About Kate

Kate Jacques (MBACP) Accred Reg. Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist.

About me

Making the decision to seek help with some of the problems life can throw at us is daunting, but a brave move to make when you feel that you are struggling or experiencing difficulties. I am a trained counsellor and psychotherapist, and am able to offer a warm, safe and calm environment, completely free of judgement, in which to talk confidentially, explore problems and work to develop or adapt coping strategies to help you manage challenges or stresses, whether they come from life events, work issues, health problems or past experiences.

I am trained in CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), person centred therapy, NLP (neuro linguistic programming),   psychodynamic therapy and transactional analysis. I am able to integrate aspects from all of these different therapies to tailor my approach to each individual I work with. This ensures that you will receive the optimum time and attention to address your personalised needs and to obtain honest and realistic results from therapy.

I have many years experience of working with people, having trained as a nurse before raising my family. I’ve also spent time working with HIV and AIDS sufferers in South Africa, and am the Vice Chairman of the local fundraising committee for a national cancer charity. These experiences have given me a good understanding of many different types of people and problems.

As a psychotherapist I am experienced with, and have a special interest in, helping people who are dealing with trauma, anxiety, low mood, self-harm, relationship issues, work stresses, phobias or addiction. I am based in Truro, Cornwall and cover a large area in Cornwall, including, Falmouth, Redruth, St Austell, Roseland, Newquay, St Agnes, Hayle and Penzance.

I am also happy to offer Zoom calls.
